It is lovely Lyn. The small amount of colour really focuses it.

Lovely work Lyn, I do so envy ( nicely of course) your ability with that machine. Your work is stunning and a lovely memory piece.

Lovely work Lyn, I do so envy ( nicely of course) your ability with that machine. Your work is stunning and a lovely memory piece. Thank you Sue. My daughter Annie is the one with true free motion skill (of which I am very envious) because I often have to find 'work-arounds' or else things like human figures would look a bit Picasso like. In this picture, for the figures, I used a photo as a guide, simplified the image then made marks on the felt with an air-erasable pen. The pen doesn't really work well on felt i.e. it's difficult to draw as with a pencil and paper, but you can make marker dots quite successfully. An essential piece of kit for me is my trusty stitch ripper - it sits alongside my swear-box.

Lovely piece Lyn, and all the better for the memories it evokes.

I love it Lyn, stitch ripper next to the swear box. That's just what need next to the sewing machine. :-)

Fabulous, & I could tell it was Dorset. Lovely minimal work, I find minimalism is so hard to pull off, you've done it perfectly here.

"Swear-box" That made me laugh almost as much as your sweet picture made me smile. I have a half-dozen seem rippers hidden in various drawers & boxes. never can find them. I think they're in cahoot with my reading glasses to drive me batty.

Elizabeth - I once went round and round my bungalow looking for my glasses ... as I passed the mirror in the hallway I caught sight of my reflection and I realised that I was wearing them!

Aside from your wonderful picture, Lyn, I had the best laugh-out-loud moment of the day reading about your glasses! Too funny!

... Looking for my glasses when they're hanging by a chain around my neck, looking for my keys when they're in my hand, looking for my phone when it's in my pocket, looking for my car when I went out the wrong door at the mall...looking for the ice cream when I put it away in the fridge (messy!)
