No, I haven't, but I did recently join one which could be worth looking at, though it might also be saturated I might have to do one or the other though, I'd forget and not keep track. It's hard finding something I have the energy for, though Facebook might be a bit simpler. It might even work out simpler to do my own site to get it how I like. I thought the wet felt group wasn't meant for promotion? Usually these groups aren't for selling directly, but a link to your shop/website is OK, then transactions can be carried out off site via Etsy, personal message etc. You are not actually selling on the group page. It's a loophole.

"Wet felt makers" group is my group. You can advertise your stuff just not overwhelm the group with buy my stuff posts. That's what it says in the description. If you are using the app you don't see it very easily. I have only had to kick one person out so far. Touch wood.

Good luck with it all Zed.
My car is packed and I am about to leave for my first ever Market Stall at the Wearable Art Market in Colac.(CrossXpollination). It is a 60klm drive(about 1 hour) and I am staying the night with a felting friend,I will leave early afternoon (about 2 hrs time)so we can go to tonights' opening 'do'. Things changed a bit this week as I was originally sharing a table with my felting buddy Marlene, but she registered me for my own table, which meant this week was full on making sure I had enough to fill a table.I have both my hat stands in,plus plenty of table stuff so it should be ok to fill the table. I think I have everything, but I keep going back to check.LOL. Very stressful so I won't do it often that's for sure - wish me luck folks.

Good luck Sue. they get easier as you do them. I have a show box with all the things you need like extra labels and price stickers and tape and pins and pens and the all important chocolate bar to get you through the afternoon.

I was going to say something similar to Ann, but I see where I've been going wrong now, I didn't have the chocolate! I hope you had a good time, Sue, sold loads and didn't spend too much

Thank you to all. Unfortunately it was not a great Wearable Art Market. Buyers were few among us all and no one had good sales.I sold one wrap and my felting buddy sold one scarf and that seems to be the way it went for most stall holders. I think they need to rethink their advertising strategy. My hats were popular but didn't sell = people loved trying them on and having a giggle- One lady said she "loved it but wouldn't wear it in town"! I was already a bit wary by the time I arrived as I stopped at an Antique market in the town the day before (to buy a mirror-which I left at home GRR-but this one is nicer)and three ladies there had not heard it was on and two were textile workers. Yes Ann I had my box of goodies with business cards, texta ,pins, wire, card and lots of change - even had the chocolate - by the end of the day I needed it. It was interesting watching what people looked at and brought. But I doubt I will do it again- too stressful.I am still tired today and got home at 4pm yesterday.I took some pics and will download them from my phone and put them in a new thread in Off Topic - as lots of textile - not heaps of felting.

Sue, sorry to hear the art market wasn't you expected. I expect it's one of those things you never knew until you try and what is hot to sell. Very unpredictable unless you're selling smart phones these days. Kudos for trying.

Thanks Marilyn, I didn't have high hopes so not badly let down .It was sad to see the younger people who need the income doing badly though. There was some outstanding Wearable Art on Exhibition and for sale too.Sadly nothing sold well - Election day would have kept some away too. I did enjoy the chance to mix with like minded people- something I rarely do living isolated as I am.

I have certainly been there myself. Very discouraging. As a rule I enjoy shows. but they are tiring. I am lucky to have my husband and son to help me set up and tear down usually.

Everyone has been in similar situation at least once! I do remember small village fair where I sold very well once and sold nothing (literally, zero!) at the next one. Try to learn something useful from every event - how to arrange your stuff, what to avoid, make acquaintances with fellow crafters and so on... And believe that the next one will be a success!
