My daily dose has lasted all weekend but I feel quite prolific. I used some of that Chantilly lace to line a circular cape - wow it was big to start ,but is now the right size _ YES! Then today I continued on with the Chantilly lace and some white merino and some 10 ply pure wool and made a wrap with white on one side and the chantilly on the reverse with a frill at the edge. Very pleased with the outcomes.Neither are dry yet but couldn't wait to share my pleasure.

The Black lettering on the cape is pure wool and is the names of places I have lived.I call it "Living the Dream". The brown roving is Corriedale and I am quite pleased with the way it felted down.I usually use it for slippers but as I have 6.4 kg I thought I would try it as a cape as well.

Wow Sue, you have been very busy! Can't wait to see the finished pieces, it looks like the wrap will have a lace border with no wool? Curious to see if it will give an undulating effect as the wool elsewhere shrinks...

Thanks, ladies! In general, I prefer to use scraps and vintage fabrics for eco-printing and natural dyeing. I like to make samples first. The top photo is a silk chiffon remnant and the bottom photo was actually a piece of an old cotton sheet.
Teri, your fish is fantastic! Did you enjoy working with the LED lights?
Sue B., now that is a project! You are brave to try such a huge piece. Look forward to seeing your results.

My daily dose today, and one which will last for a while yet! I bought 3 Shetland fleeces this morning, a white, a brown and a black Moorit shearling with tan tips. The white and the tan had been roo'd, whilst the black had been sheared. The white is soaking but here are some pics of the others. The crimp in the black Moorit is just gorgeous. flic.kr/p/HTnoxuflic.kr/p/JiX1wP

Teri, your fish is fantastic! Did you enjoy working with the LED lights? Thanks Cathy, I bought a few different sets of lights to have a play so I expect there will be at least another two felted lamps in the near future, maybe nemo next?

Looking forward to seeing those fleeces spun Judith- quite a job ahead of you.
Yes Terri the lace edging is ruffled along both edges and it came out just as I envisioned for change. LOL Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I like a challenge and that Chantilly lace was going to eat at me if I didn't use some fast. Not feeling at all guilty about buying it now. LOL
The cape was inspired by the latest Felt magazine and a dream I had, though I had the dream before I saw the coat in Felt. It gave me the impetus to have a go. The circle was 1.5 metres diameter at the start and has shrunk to about 1.2 so will be just right to wear. The Corriedale picked up the lace well too.
Marilyn here in Australia we have a well known Talk -back Radio personality who often encourages Aussies to "Live their dream" - so I did.LOL
