Great hat Terri. The printing stud up to the felting process really well.
I did some weaving with roving years ago and mine did full somewhat but didn't shrink. I used them for pads on the plastic seats of the car. They worked really well. I am interested to see how yours fulls.

Teri - great hat! Love it. Carole - As everyone has already said; it should felt just fine. I love your loom, A 24" Heddle is on my wish list. Is yours an Ashford or a Kromski? Are you on Fb Spinners UK? Lots of weavers on there.

Judith, do you have The Works anywhere near you? I saw a small loom on their site not so long ago for £10 (10 x 12")(it isn't there now, unfortunately), they didn't have it in the shop, but they had a similar one with notches all around (8.5" x 8.5") for about £3, so I got that, then ordered the one online. That came with (I don't know the correct name) one of those lifting blocks, to make it easier to push the (weft?) yarn through, and a shuttle thingie for the yarn ... I think I loaded too much on and found it easier to use a needle in the end. They're really good though.

Thanks zed. I didn't realise that we had The Works in a nearby town until I looked at their store locator just now. Spitting tacks, as I was there only yesterday. I think the lifting thingummyjig you mentioned might be a heddle. Going on hols tomorrow, so might investigate when I get back.

Ooh, have a good time and don't forget my stick of rock By the way, I saw the same cheap loom on Amazon for about £6 when looking up that 'micki' loom someone mentioned in the Spinners UK group (I want that now too!)

One f the cheapest looms you can get is the one you make. make a backstrap loom. They still use them in lots of places around the world because you can make the out of just about anything.

The trouble with making anything is, unless you really know what it should look like or how it should work, you don't know if the instructions are good.

I just wrote a post over on The Felting and Fiber Studio blog about my first challenge entry for this quarter. I did another one that is quite different than the first today. I wrote about it on my personal blog (link in signature) if you want to know more about it. This was inspired by my recent trip to Hawaii. There are clickable larger photos on my blog. Ruth, i like your pencil weaving and your moose !!! Are you making a pdf for the moose? I once have seen one in Norway, he is really huge !!!

Thanks, Ann. My eyes aren't up to all that. It's a shame we don't have any guilds round here, they're all further out all seem to have cars so meet in the middle of nowhere. Maybe the Science and Industry museum will let me borrow one of their big ones for a day

I drive, but not the vehicle we have at the moment... it's more of a boy's toy There again my wheel is more a girl's toy and I prefer to drive my wheel rather than a steering wheel.

Not exactly fitting this quarter's challenge guidelines, but in case I don't get a chance to re-use my felt scraps... I bought a revolting lilac 1980's bias cut silk chiffon dress full of beads & sequins for 1 Euro ! I cut it up & felted it onto a white silk chiffon layer, using a simple layer of lilac merino fibres. Hey presto, an acceptable evening shawl! farm8.staticflickr.com/7352/27133770896_2e3fee9d6c_b.jpg
