Nada - looks like you are in for a wonderful experience - enjoy! I finally purchased a pool cover to use instead of bubble wrap - I did not find a rectangle so it is a 9 foot circle - I got tired of trying to tape bubble wrap together to make it wide enough. I know some of you do not use bubble wrap but if you do this looks like a very good alternative and reasonably priced. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P7O4KAU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Oh, my…what a fabulous find! Looks like silk thread for weaving, silk hankies, fabric--and buttons? I am just drooling over your purchases! Yes, there is some silk that I am not sure of its prep. It is like a yarn, but little twist? I think I will try it in weft for weaving. She also was a button maker, both ceramic and glass. She was very talented. Edited because my IPad thinks it knows better what to type, then what I want. Darn autocorrect.

My daily dose today was rewetting and shrinking my scarf. it was to long to work properly. I also started working on the challenge for next quarter.
Great basket work. Is it your own hand spun in it.

I'm afraid I can't take credit for the yarn Ann, it was a very pretty, rainbow dyed slubby yarn that the tutor brought in.

Lovely basket and a vase, Teri. The yarn looks very interesting. Is it some artificial material or natural fibers?

Looks like you had a great time in your class Teri - can't wait to see what you come up with in combination with felting.

There was a mixture of threads in the vase nada, the pink base was cotton thread, then there is the rainbow slubby yarn, blending into some grey/silver paper ribbon, finally there is some metallic curling ribbon normally used to decorate gift wrapping and some blue paper provided the blue petals at the top

I've bought an instructional video from Russa where the felting master, Alena Selezneva, is demonstrating an interesting felting technique called "weaving". It produces very light an elastic felt with minimal quantities of wool used and lots of other fibers (viscose, bamboo, silk, etc). Take a look here cargocollective.com/d_create/filter/concept/Style-Alena-Selezneva). I don't speak Russian but was trying to follow the video and pick up the knowledge from what I saw. As I am very impatient and can't wait for someone who speaks RUssian to help me with translations, I decided to have a go. First I made some samples, then I made a small baby jacket www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/41321352 and then felt more encouraged and made a top for myself www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/41321354 and here is a detail. www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/41321358 For the top I used only 150 of fine merino wool in two colours, and about the same amount of black bamboo and grey viscose. It took me three days to complete the work (laying fibres is very time consuming considering there are six layers of fiber). I encountered many problems but managed somehow to solve them and got PERFECT fit in the end. Very pleased.
