I wanted to make a scarf or two for a silent auction to benefit a local habitat restoration. So, it had to be flowers. I used the technique for roses & flowers that I just learned. Then I decide it was time to jump into embroidery to enhance it. (and fix it). Here are some photos. Both ends: Here's a close-up of some embroidery. My phone would not let me download some others, Close-up of a flower. And another two.
And lastly, my pathetic attempt at a dragonfly..

Very pretty indeed Elizabeth, I particularly love the detail in the 2nd pic and the blue scrim flower. Scrim is scrummy! All good wishes for the Auction.

chuffed: To be very pleased, proud or happy. Thank, Teri and all. I enjoy learning new slang. 'Whinge' is a favorite, too. (too funny!! The speller was whinging me until I added the 'aich')

Ah yes, chuffed = northern English slang and one of my favourite words I live with a kiwi so I am a whinging pom by default I learned some new American last week too - "hambone", as in, "he's such a hambone he doesn't deserve a gift" - I wonder if anyone on this side of the pond will know it without looking in urban dictionary.com or similar?

Very nice, Elizabeth. In particular, the ivory flowers with orange accents caught my eye!

Very pretty Elisabeth. I somehow forget to use embroidery. It gives added value to felt.

Hambone sounds familiar, Teri, from childhood tv shows. The stitching is really nice, Elizabeth

I thought I knew a fair bit of US slang but I had to resort to looking hambone up, it means a lazy freeloader.

I thought I knew a fair bit of US slang but I had to resort to looking hambone up, it means a lazy freeloader. I had to look it up, too. The definition that I found (Urban dictionary) made it sound a lot uglier than 'freeloader'. I don't think I'll be using that term frequently.

That's not what I think of as hambone. I think of it as more of a goof. the dictionary says otherwise. I had no idea. I had the actor link as in someone hamming it up but not the blackface reference.
