Has anybody tried weighting needle felted (dry) figures?
I mean, filling the base with steel shot to keep the toy sitting upright. I've tried googling teddy bear instructions but found no needle feled solutions, so am at a loss on how to insert the shot, and the differences between shot, glass, garnet, plastic weights.
How on earth do you add the shot?

I haven't tried this. But I would probably put the shot into a cloth bag and then put the wool around it and needle the figure. You need to be careful not to stab into the shot but you know where it is so needle at an angle instead. I have no knowledge of different kinds of shot.

Would drapery weights work? I think they come in a cloth casing. Just a thought.

I weighted something years ago now. I used the plastic beads for weighting. I left a hollow in the bottom then put the beads in a little cloth bag and sewed it up them put it in the hollow. I felted a flat patch to go over it. I needled the patch into place. I wouldn't use shot.

I've bought some drapery weights, the sort that look like metal washers, so I'll update once I finish my needle felt project :D
