I've been doing some one to one art therapy lately and I thought some of the activities/challenges would interest people here. The website is: start2.co.uk/You can register and have your 'ownzone' to save activities and upload your work, or just access it and use it as you like. I recently did these: www.start2.co.uk/course/be-curious/stitch-memory-journal/all-you-need-to-knowYou start with the first one, which is simple stitches, then move onto the next which combines stitch and fabric, and the third is many fabrics/various stitches. It's harder than it seems to force yourself to be really minimalistic. I've done two pieces so far, this first one is a teasel using just a straight stitch. I'm counting it for exercise 2, because even though it doesn't show, there's a piece of brown felt under the stitches: teasel par Zedster01, on ipernity This one counts for exercise 2 aswell, it's Silver Birch: silver birch par Zedster01, on ipernity There are lots of great exercises on the site, not just fabric/stitch/textile, there's collage too, They're good for getting the mind working, and forcing you to think and observe in different ways

These are both lovely, Zed! Are these experiments in felt and stitch? How do you plan to use or display them? Will have a look at the site because I am also looking for inspiration.

Very nice pieces Zed. It's nice to have a place to go to help you learn new skills and inspire creativity.

Thanks again, everyone Sorry, I forgot to answer you, Cathy .... I just followed the exercise, you don't have to use felt, you can use fabric or yarn, it's upto you depending on what your inspiration is. I found I was working 'backwards', looking at photos, sketching out areas of colours and what texture stitch I might add, then simplifying that, then trying to simplify even more, or choose simpler photos like the ivy. It's the kind of thing that could work well with wet felting too though in a very minimalist way, especially using prefelt.

Very good Zed I like the way the simple stiches really work on the pieces.
