Yes it's the first one. We've been renovating (electricity, isolation...) a house for last years and normally by the end of this year the rooms (except the furniture) will be ready. So the nest is nearly ready ! How exciting! It will go faster than you think!

I've been making angels - a whole choir! Felt ball - cotton scrim, linen scrim and a bit of lace. I saw something similar on the 'net made with hessian, but as I had the linen scrim I used that. DH says they look more like ghosts, they're certainly a scruffy looking bunch! A Choir of Angels by Judith Robinson, on Flickr I think they are darling Judith!

They are very cute. Maybe some wings would convince your hubby?

No felting but a little sewing - taking my hubby's shirts and using them to make throw pillows to give to the children (grown). Two from PJ shirts and two from dress shirts. The shirts (covers) are buttoned over the pillow form so it makes it easy to take them off for laundering. Lay the shirt out flat buttoned inside out, cut a 12 1/2 inch square to include the pocket (for a 12 inch pillow form) then sew - right sides should be together. Turn right side out unbutton, insert pillow and button.

Very creative and sentimental, I'm sure the family will love them.

What a busy place this is, and so creative. Congratulations Aphee, lucky little baby to be arriving into the world in May, good luck with your pregnancy. The Angel choir is adorable :-) Frances I love what you have done with the shirts, it must have quite emotional making them. These days I don't seem to get time to make and play, but today was one of those rare days - all to myself and tonight having a Christmas party with my felting group - perfect day. I decided to have a go at cracked earth felt, I have seen some on this site but I can't find the link. So I watched a youtube video, then had a go - but ofcourse not happy just to make the cracked earth top - I thought I would make it into a slip, so I added a resist and a back - mistake - it all went a bit wobbly - but here is my first attempt.

Judith--love the choir of angels! Rustic, not scruffy.
Frances--very clever idea for the pillows. Repurposing cloth with memories.

Nice "cracked earth" Carole. I don't think cracked earth is meant to be straight lines anyway - so a bit wobbly makes it more authentic

I forgot to say that the pillows will make a wonderful keepsake for your kids. Wish I had one from my Dad.

Carole, it can be a bit wobbly to do this technique. Here' what I've done obviously I don't believe in straight lines. :-)
