What a cool idea, Teri. Sewer's helper is exactly what I need and I am going to make one for myself. I hate it when the beeds start bouncing on the table and falling on the floor. Usually I don't even bother picking them because the beads are so small and I can't even see them but later I find them sticking to my soles. Thanks for sharing the method too.

I haven't heard of the Blackadder here, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We usually stick to regular stations. That was a neat way to discover the sewers friend, Teri!

Marilyn it was on PBS. It's been a few years since I have seen it pop up.

It was a sitcom set in Elizabethan England. Lord Blackadder has a servant called Baldrick and Lord Blackadder's long-suffering friend is Lord Percy. There are a lot of clips on Youtube - here's one: link

It's worth a watch if you see it pop up, I think there were 4 series in the end, all set in different historical periods. The comedy is mostly slapstick but very well done. I still like watching the reruns 20 years on

Then the actor that plays Boldric did a series called worlds worst jobs in history.it was a proper historical documentary where he did all the jobs. very appropriate as he always had the dirty jobs in Blackadder.

There are several sites where you can watch the'Blackadder' series free online. There is also talk of a new series, though they question whether they can afford Hugh Laurie these days after his success across the pond, in 'House'.

Ha ha, this is so funny - apologies for degrading the lovely fibre talk into Blackadder talk!! It's such a great word... codpiece, codpiece, codpiece!!

Just home from today's dose of fibre... I had 8 ladies in my village who wanted to know what this thing I do called felt is... 2 English, 1 Scottish, 2 Cretan, 1 German, 1 Belgian & 1 Norwegian.... thankfully most had pretty good English & I remembered enough of my Greek ("You do it like this" was rather useful!). Everyone made 2 ovals, ideally they should have been circles They've taken them home with instructions on how to dry & sew them together, to make flowers. By some miracle even the terrible, lumpy ones look OK! I wore a long nuno vest/ waistcoat (it can't be a waistcoat if it's long I suppose) & some thought they'd like to try that next!

Sounds like you've got a group going. Are you charging for your services? And flowers can look lumpy sometimes

Sounds like they all had a great time Jill, you've clearly endowed them all with plenty of confidence if they want to make clothing next!
