I've gone card mad! A selection of my original, reusable, recyclable, "keepable", trifold, Eco printed Greetings Cards. Roughly square when folded, sizes range from 120mm to 150mm. Inserts and envelopes are of recycled paper and the clear display packet is biodegradable. The cords are plant dyed. flic.kr/s/aHskpzcn7G

They're really gorgeous, Judith! Did you print onto card? You need to get spinning your own cords from flax or something now

Thanks zed. They're on watercolour paper. I thought I really ought to spin the cords! Hmm - I'd have to call it art yarn!!!

Lovely! And by using the cord to hold the insert, the recipients can further recycle them by framing them!!

That's the idea Elizabeth, reuse, repurpose or recycle.

Gorgeous Judith! You could make handmade paper as well. :-)

Your cards are gorgeous. I made some in a similar fashion several years ago and all the recipients loved them. Are you selling these in the gallery?

Thank you Ruth. I can't decide whether to sell or not. Hitting the right price is difficult and we have 9 birthdays in December so that will deplete the stock somewhat.

Gorgeous Judith! You could make handmade paper as well. :-) I suppose I could Marilyn, but would it be sturdy enough to be handled when it's soaked?

It depends on what type of paper. Cotton may not although I wet felted denim and it worked ok. Abaca or flax might work better. Are you wetting it to apply the printing? I don't know much about this process.

It has to be completely soaked. I think handmade might just revert to mush.

They are gorgeous Judith, and some even look slightly metallic. could you use some thin cotton sheet as a support when the paper is soaked? Like the others I'm not entirely sure what your process is, but when I make paper I flip it out of the frame onto old tea towels so I can handle and move them while drying, I imagine you could press leaves etc into the paper at that stage and then peel them out one else dry?
