Hello Frances, I decided to give them a try too. I think they would be fun to experiment with.. Now that I am the experimenting mode... Smile. Too bad you do not have them already - would be fun to put some in each of your dye pots

Frances - here are some I dyed and made into flower buds. You can also used dyed silk rods rolled up inside to get a flower look.

Thanks Cathy - it ended up looking something like this. There were multiple parts that went together. The silk cocoons is about postcard sized.

That's very nice Ruth. Are the cocoons glued to the base?

Thanks Nada - I think they are stitched with a couple of hidden stitches. I made this a long time ago so I can't remember and I no longer have it. The background is all made from dyed paper towels.

There is wool added to a couple of the pieces. But all the background started as paper towels.

I like how you've used the cocoons and the whole arrangement is gorgeous. I have also dyed cocoons and carriers rods, the cocoons (orange spheres) and the rods (mutli coloured) I teased out and got some interesting colours

The cocoons do add interesting texture to the overall compositions. Very nice, Ruth and Carole!

Love the Cocoons as flower buds - Thanks for showing me. Are we going to do dyed paper towels in the upcoming class?

Carole - love your vase Frances - I will be talking about dyed paper towels. But most of mine are just paper towels that I use to clean up extra dye with. I have always saved them and then end up using them occasionally.
