May be a silly question but what a "Company name" means when applying for a place in craft or art shows? I understand it if you run business but for an individual? Could, for example, my ETSY shop name be a "Company name"? Or it should be registred and I as well as I don't know who?.. I am talking UK rules but very gratefull for any thoughts and opinions!

Felt by Zed isn't registered at Companies house or anything, but it is the name I sell/trade under, so I've put that as Company name when I did a couple of craft fairs. I think it's just so they have all the info.

I usually leave the company name field blank. If you have a recognizable brand and do all your business under that, then it would be appropriate.
Example: My friend Erin is a jeweler, she is the only person in her company. Her distinct brand is "RINjuel" and she does all her marketing, reporting, taxes, etc. under that business name. This is not her screenname, or Etsy user name.

Thank you ladies! If I sell in a real shop in York or with York Feltmakers I use my personal name obviously but when I sell as an individual I'd like to use my ETSY shop's name just for consistency and to make a link. I've checked there is no company with such name (FeltyPretties) registred in UK so I may be use it as Company name as Zed suggested... It's my first time of applying (just thinking about it actually!) to a bigger fair so it's unfamiliar territory completely!..

Most people I know are like Zed. Most artists I know use their own name as the company name or something like "Art by Ann McElroy". I think using your etsy store name is a good idea. I wold use it on hangtags when you sell in a real store too. It makes it consistent. you can have your personal name on things as well. It doesn't have to be one or the other. I have both on my hang tags and business cards.

I've made most of my own tags, I did business cards too until my printer died, then I splashed out on some from Staples. As long as your 'logo' is consistent across it all, you can customise to suit your needs. I have some small tags which just have 'felt by zed' on: and bigger ones which can fit my etsy URL on:

Oops! They're actually about 1 x 1.5" and 1.5 x 2.5 inches in real life

Your Company name is whatever you want to trade as. If you want to open a separate bank account for the business, then the nominated account might be called - "Your name", followed by Trading as ....... For example:- Joe Bloggs, T/A Squiggly Squirrels Registration at Companies House is only necessary for Limited Liability Companies. You can trade under as many names as you like. eg. Perhaps you are a plumber too, in which case you may want to use a more appropriate business name for that. Nice logos zed! Bright and very distinctive, carrying on your rainbow theme.
