I'm fortunate to belong to group of 14 professional quilters, 10 of us attended our 7th annual retreat last week. You all probably know what these events are like....to say I'm pooped is an understatement. I'll have an exhibit at the NC Arboretum, Asheville, NC - April - June, 2016, featuring mostly nature themed work so I'm working on creating some new larger pieces. A pal gifted me 3 very large boxes of high quality Japanese style fabrics...you can see what I made at retreat from this stash (and more about the retreat) by clicking here: or copy and paste the following: www.marystori.blogspot.com/2015/03/pta-7th-annual-retreat.htmlBTW - I tried to attach a photo but keep getting an error message saying 'this forum has exceeded its attachment space' - my attachment was only 119kg......

I'm not sure what a retreat actually is? I like your Japanese prints.

The quilts are great - and to go away and just craft with no worries with friends sounds wonderful.

Mary - retreats are such fun but they are exhausting. Looks like it was productive.
If you are already posting your photos on your blog, you can easily post them here without using the storage space here. Just go to your blog, right click on the photo, click on 'copy image url' and then paste the url here in the reply box. Highlight the url and then click on the photo icon. This is probably better explained in the photos section of the frequently asked questions. We appreciate anyone posting photos that way so we don't use our space up so quickly.

Some gorgeous quilts there Mary. Seems you all had a great time. I'm signed up for a QAL, but when I'll find the time to do it I'm not sure. I need a trip out to buy some more stash, which would be a good start !

Hello all.....Zed said she wasn't sure what a retreat was........I suppose there are lots of definitions.....but in our circumstance......it's a 2 night 3 day getaway at a casual mountain "camp' (all inclusive mid-price hotel type setting with conference space...only we rent a house with 7 bedrooms on the property). It's an excuse to drop out of our busy lives for a few days, sew, eat, chat, laugh, eat, drink whatever the beverage of choice may be, oh ya....and sew!
Thank you for the helpful posting info.......I'm less than proficient with the finer points of computers.....too busy sewing to learn...which is not a good excuse.

Please look at my post "Felting then quilting" and give us your commens. I have never quilted and wondered about sewing the blocks together since the felted blocks would be thicker than fabric. Thank you Mary
