Nada, those are both great-looking bags with interesting textural effects. And is that another new vest? Gorgeous!
Thanks, ladies, for your nice comments on my clutch. I will soon have another to show you!

I love the bags, Nada. Is the one with merino & silk lined? If not, then how did you make it dense enough to hold up? My first attempt a a merino-silk bag ended with a piece that was large enough to use for my daily stuff, but strong enough only to hold a wallet, not the rest of my 'essentials'.

Thank you girls for your lovely comments. Elisabeth, both bags are lined with cotton gauze. The lining is actually felted in: I used a resist, placed the gauze on it and then laid six layers of merino wool on each side. I also fulled the felt quite a bit to get firm felt. I think I mentioned that I was using South asmerican merino which is 27 mic.

Wow, six layers of wool! Having never heard of SOUTH AMERICAN merino, did you observe any difference between that and other merinos?

Between working in the yard, taking Hubby to the emergency room (car door hit is leg and put a gash in it - put back together with steri strips) and getting ready for Garden Club Workshop tomorrow I have managed to do a little experimenting with my felting. I have made two "collars". One I really like the other I will use on something but not for what I had planned. I am trying to change the look of a dress and a blouse. I do not care for the embellishment around the neck of the dress and the blouse is boring. Taking photos and will post on my blog and post a link here tonight or tomorrow. I am going to a wedding in June and need "Dress Up" clothing for 3 events.

Thanks for the explanation, Nada. I purchased some tulle, thinking that I could use it as an overlay for felting items. It's too open and ended up felting into the object too much. I wonder if I could use it like you used the cheesecloth - as a lining or stiffener. Frances, I hope your DH heals quickly.

Nice clutch Cathy.
Elizabeth - tulle will definitely stiffen things but if it somehow pokes through the wool it will be scratchy. At least with cheesecloth, it is soft.

That's a nice purse Cathy. Isn't it fun making bags? I need to think now about a handle for my black clutch bag.
