I bought just the hook side. It about 2 inches wide. I stuck it to the canvas and then stuck the picture to it. I think I used 3 square dots along the bottom to hold it flat. I got it at Michael's. I would think Joanne's would have it. I found it very hard to get a needle and thread through the canvas. I probably have the wrong needle.

I used a doll needle to lash felt to the canvas--very strong!

I punch holes first in the canvas before I stitch the felt to it. Then you are just putting the needle through the hole.

Yes, forgot to say I did that, too, Ruth! I used a small awl. Must have learned that from you!

Here are photos of the piece I attached to the canvas. As you can see the edges would not lend themselves well to traditional framing and I like the way it floats off the wall. I didn't treat the canvas edges at all since they're not visible. The velcro loop strips are attached only by the adhesive backing but I'll go back and staple through the front of the canvas to secure them. This piece is roughly 17" x 18". **Forgot to add that the velcro goes completely around the canvas.. all four sides all the way to the corners.

Thanks for showing us Shana. The piece is lovely and looks good "floating" against the wall.

I'm sure there is somewhere a thread about framing and mounting felted pictures, could not find it at the moment... This is a link to a paper on the subject. Some points could be interesting to consider and there is a link to tutorial in comments. www.textileartist.org/displaying-and-hanging-textile-art/If somebody knows where to move this post so that all info will be together and could do it, it would be great!

I remember this post in the blog Ruth, but I think there was a discussion on the subject somewhere on forum as well and I'd like this post to be transferred there if it's possible. So that all info will be in one thread.

Not sure this is the one you were thinking, I think there have been several.

Thank you very much! It doesn't matter what thread it is, I just didn't want them to multiply!
