Thanks Lyn. It turned out larger than I had intended as I was expecting the Lutradur to shrink!

Thank you to everyone for all your positive comments, it's very encouraging. It was a bit daunting coming on here for the first time, especially as my first piece wasn't felted! I did make a small wet felted pea pod a few months ago which could possibly fit the bill. This is a photo of it. feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/52oyllr1_yvivylnc7b7.jpgAttachments:

Karen - your leaf and pea pod are wonderful. We do all kinds of fiber art here - it doesn't have to be felting. So do please post more photos and projects that are in other fiber media.
Does lutradur usually shrink much when you put the heat gun on it? I have shrunk tyvek but haven't used lutradur much. I just thought it got lacy but didn't know it shrank too.

Ruth, like you, I had only used Tyvek previously. Because I had read that Lutradur could be distressed using heat I wrongly assumed that it would shrink. Having said that it is a wonderful material to use for creating a lacy effect. I am looking around for ideas of other things to make with it. It could look great with organza behind, showing through the holes.

Hi Karen, great peapod. I've never worked with Lutradur. It sounds cool. Ay suggestions on where to learn more about it and how to use it?

Marilyn - I know there are several books that have been written about using Lutradur. I can't remember what they were called though. You might try searching on Amazon. It's nice because it doesn't fray, you can melt it, you can sew on it, you can paint it.
