I did a post today about a beach picture I made. BLOG POST You can't really see in the picture how the stitching changes the picture. I took another one this morning at a low angle so maybe you can see better. You will need to click on it.

Oh yes, I see what you mean. I've just come from the blog so this photo is new to me and I like the definition that the stitching gives. I think a little stitching on the boat hulls and house roofs would look good (I prefer the towels with the stitching).
I love the colours and it's a happy picture that makes you smile - I hope you enjoy it.

As I commented on the blog post, I think the black stitching is great as outline. You wouldn't need to change colors and it gives a "sketched" sort of appearance.

Then I did the second one using white thread. it gives it a completely different look.
before stitching
After stitching but not the tree. I didn't want to out line it.
I decided to do it this way

I like the white on the umbrellas and the tree (the tree looks good not outlined) - it's very effective - and overall it makes the scene look 'hotter'.
I like the way you finished your black thread picture and the addition of the 'grass' is neat!

Both look good Ann. Each has a different beach feel to it. :-)

Very appealing pictures! Will be nice to hang and gaze at during the long, cold winters.

Very nice and happy pictures. Did you use prefelt for the objects on the pictures?

Ann, these are lovely, great colours and so bold - love them. I particularly like your graphic approach to these pieces, it gives them a quirky edge.

They both turned out really nice, Ann. It's interesting how different the black and white stitching looks.

Great job Ann - it's interesting to see the different effects between the black and white outlines. They do look fun to do.
