Back in high school( many moons ago) my sewing teacher said you do not want you cloths to look home made, you want them to look hand made. That has always stuck me as right.

I've been making handmade cards for my two sons for years, and they love them (or so they say!) They are usually simple, mixed media--nothing as fancy as yours, Zed. But I think they recognize the "specialness" of the cards. I have saved their handmade cards (crafted as children) to me, and I treasure them.
To my thinking, there is nothing "proper" about mass-produced, store-bought cards. Let's just call them pedestrian. ;-)

I always love handmade items especially from someone I know because I know time, thought and love went into it. It is sad some people just don't appreciate that. Too bad for them. But people who do appreciate handmade items will pay for them. I hope there of plenty of them at the fair for you!

Yes, you have to choose the right people for handmade gifts! If they don't appreciate handmade, then the Poundland is probably the best place to shop for them!

I do trading with handmade cards all the time. I always treasure these, but I will normally throw away store bought cards after a while.
