I did try it a little bit yesterday, but I find it easier to do 'upside down' like blanket stitch. I might get some new fabric to try it properly.

Yesterday I made the lining for my little purse and decided to do the two stitches as decoration (and to hold the lining in). It was fun and I am really enjoying it. The top row is the buttonhole stitch and the second row (only partially finished) is the fly stitch. Not sure what I am going to do for the third row yet. I'll post a pic when it is finished.

Hi Karen, here is the first two rows on the lining. It was fun, and I think I have repeated the stitches enough so that I will remember them - lol. TAST1 by pamd8, on Flickr

Wow Pam that looks great! I usually have to look up a stitch again unless I've done it for hours and hours and even then...
It really makes the bag look very classy with the stitching.

Thanks so much. I've been doing this type of stitching inside my bags since the beginning. At first I only did one row of stitching to hold the lining in, but then I got concerned that would rip out of the bag, so I started doing three rows of decorative stitching. I think that should hold any lining in place. It was fun, but I was running out of decorative ideas. Now I have more ideas, and more on the way!
