The only material here is paper, felt pens and a bit of glue, but I really like the effect, I made some into earrings, but I think they would look grand on felted pieces - I think they have an ethnic feel and so so easy to make.

Have you tried making similar ones with strands of wool? They're really nice

They're lovely - I can see them adorning felted bags, slippers, brooches, vessels....etc. Just a stitch or two to hold them on.

I love to make paper beads on bamboo skewers and I use them on felted pieces - if my grandaughters haven't raided my stock! They love them too.
I colour my paper with acrylic paints (before cutting and rolling) which give a slight sheen and make the beads more durable.
