I think so Marilyn because it is all flattened out.

I would say so too. My mother-in-law liked to do tapestry pictures and when she had anything framed she always had non-reflective glass. You really couldn't see the glass at all.

Very nice project, Halay! And what a great idea to include the silk lining in the felting process…did it come out ruffled or crinkly at all? I also like the gathered or ruffled look at the top of the bag.

Here's my piece felted It's funny, I was thinking yesterday I wonder if there is a way to preserve a lay out to keep the 3d look. I have put wool under glass too, and it's not the same, but can be interesting.

It's beautiful and, although you'll probably make it into a cover or a purse, it would be a great piece of wall art.
Either the unfelted or the felted image would also make a pretty printed notecard. Sometimes vistaprint have mug offers - I got Annie's 'flowers on Coverack beach' put onto a mug (the picture was a long rectangle like yours) and it looks good wrapped around the mug. I think yours would look good!

Thanks for that info, Lyn I like Aileen Clarke's cards, I did ask her once who she used but didn't get a response. If I knew a good manufacturer I'd consider getting some done. I have thought of Fineart America to upload designs for people to get single prints, maybe one day I did another piece, based on some of his mixed media pieces, they reminded me of some 'scrape' paintings I did in oils years ago. I don't think he does them all the same, some are just lines or smears, some look like he tried to do mirror images or at least start from the centre and work out, some are obviously cloned on a photo editing program. I used this piece as the main inspiration: Though, I did just write down the colours and then go off and do a mirror imaged piece, so it isn't a real copy. This is a close up from before felting: My girlfriend convinced me to add some darker blues and blacks so I did, this is what it looks like felted: The intention was to make book covers, but I like them both as they are too much, I think

Zed, both of your pieces are awesome! I had never before heard of laying out the wool fibers as art, but it's quite an intriguing idea. They are both beautiful wall hangings. Great suggestion to add dark fibers to your second piece--makes all the colors pop!
Many years ago I needlepointed and did crewel and tapestry work and the question always was: glass or no glass. Even with the use of non-reflective glass, it changes the look of the art.

Zed - both of your pieces are awesome. I really like the stripey one. Hopefully, I will get my piece finished this weekend. I did half of it but need to finish.

great job Zed. I think the darker bits make it pop more. you could ask at an art school or ask an paint artist where they get prints done. I am thinking of doing some cards if I ever get past just sketching pictures.

A very lovely piece Zed - good idea to keep them both as they are for a while - you may decide not to take the scissors to them!

Thanks a lot everyone I'd forgotten how much I liked stripey felt, pretty much all of my first felt pieces were stripes of some sort
