Cathy, I've had it for a while now, but the novelty hasn't worn off yet Leonor, unless you can find a second hand one, we really don't have much choices here in the UK for carders, for different types or suppliers. My decision was based on wanting to support a smaller local business and also cost, but the info on their website, the way they seemed very approachable and friendly was what convinced me. I did a post when I got mine feltingandfiberstudio.com/2013/10/14/new-drum-carder/I can always try to do a video for you if you like?

Zed, the batt you made on the blog post was so pretty! I love Autumnal colours I had no idea it was so hard to find different types of carders in the UK... I was also looking for a Babe spinning wheel and haven't found any outside the US. What a pity. Thanks for the offer to make the video, that's really nice of you! If you do get the time and feel like it, I'd love it - but don't feel obliged, by any means.

Alright. I'll probably be using it before long anyway, so I'll set up where it's better light to video I think I've done more coppery/autumnal batts than anything else

I've seen the blog post, Zed! Thanks so much. I haven't commented or watched the videos because I want to sit down and have a proper look (as opposed to a very hurried glance) so I will give you some feedback tomorrow! Again, thank you, it was really nice of you I can't wait to get a drum carder! And a spinning wheel... and more wool... oh well!

Ha, you're welcome, Leonor Sorry I had to edit them down, but the parts in the middle that I cut out really were just 10 minutes of me feeding wool in and turning the handle! I wanted to do it in front of the window for better light, but there's major rearranging going on in the house and not much room to move stuff around. Ruth, my computer might be listening, it was definitely software and website errors

Your videos turned out really well Zed. You have lots of patience. My lap top is good except it hates YouTube. Takes forever to watch anything. I thought it was out internet but its the same at a friend who has real high speed.

You might need to update your player, Ann, Shockwave I think it is. I know for a while, every time I tried to use youtube, it said 'shockwave player has crashed'.
I don't think you'd say I have patience if you heard me every time Movie maker crashed yesterday! For some random reason it wouldn't edit the movies I had brightened and saved. I had to open the originals, brighten them then cut a chunk out the middle.

Sounds like a lot of extra work Zed. Thanks for taking the time and making the extra effort. I know a lot of us appreciated it. :-)

You're an angel, Zed! I have yet to watch the video (I had a gas leak in my building and had to call the authorities, then it was all the nervousness surrounding the "is everyone alright" bit...) If I get a bit of a quality quiet time tonight I'll watch it and let you know!

shockwave is up to date. I wonder if the is a conflict with another program that runs video or if it just has a crappy video card.
