I have, Karen sent me some. I thought I had a photo on flickr, I did put a photo in Beyond Nuno, the thicker pieces didn't felt brilliantly, the edges lifted a little, but I wasn't careful about which pieces I used. I used individual pieces, not knotted.

The thicker pieces felt in better if you fray the edges a bit.

Yes - it works if you fray the edges as Judith recommended.

well I wouldn't throw anything out! ok I was hoping the middles would felt and the edges wouldn't but of course the opposite make more sense if I thought about it properly.

If you want the middles to felt, don't fray the edges I have tubs of all sorts of saved threads, frayings and unravelings.

I may end up doing some sewing. I wanted the frayed edges to stick up.

You could needle the middle to help it along.

Sewing them on would take less time.

I agree with Ruth. You could put resists under the frayed part, but it seems like a lot of faffing if there's a lot.

I am trying not to be a purest anymore and just realise sometimes something other than felting is the best way to do some things.
