Oh Judith, you made me laugh. I'm a non-drinker like Judy. I thought you were referring to the annual (in my area) flower, Begonia cocktail mix with names like 'Brandy', 'Whiskey', Gin. I couldn't figure out where the flower reference was coming from.

I don't really drink either. I discovered recently that Rubbing alcohol is what we call Surgical Spirits, Judith, but I'm sure some dodgy vodka would work too

Guess I am not the only clueless one here. My mother used to use blackberry brandy to treat my Asthma attacks when I was a kid. Every time I ever tried a sip of liquor, it made me gag. I am sure I am better off, as my brother was an alcoholic. No, food is my sinful pleasure. I know all about food. lol

I don't drink spirits, they taste like medicine to me! However, I do enjoy the occasional glass of wine.

Well, I use to drink when I was younger, scotch on the rocks. Never liked beer and wine tastes like vinegar to me. Now that I'm older I don't drink. We don't party as much and do a lot of driving related activities. I love driving and don't want to take the chance of hurting myself, someone else or my vehicles.

You reminded me Judith, a few months ago my American girlfriend wanted to taste Scrumpy, we looked round Sainsbury's and got a couple of bottles of the closest thing we could find, some cloudy Somerset cider. The first one was fine, the second one tasted like a cross between medicine, a cleaning product and something you'd taste at the dentists

I drink wine occasionally ( usually mixed with orange juice) and I get small bottle of peach schnapps maybe once a year. I would be happy if I could get stuff that added the right flavour without being alcoholic. I hate beer. I don't know how people afford to drink hard liqueur. It is very expensive here. I remember as a kid people always giving large bottle of booze at every occasion. You don't see that anymore.

I'm not wild about English cider, too much fizz and too sweet, French is much nicer, but I only have that when in France - so not too often! Beer is not for me either. Having said all that, I'm enjoying a white wine aperitif! It's Sunday and dinner is almost ready.
